The Company
Unique in this area of the country, Ballet Español is a professional Spanish dance company featuring 2-12 dancers and musicians.
The Artform
A dazzling blend of fiery Spanish gypsy and classical flamenco dance and music- experience the tantalizing rhythms of guitar and heelwork in “Farruca”, the intricate castanets and brilliant costumes of “Sevillanas”, and the “Malambo” – “Dance of the Bolas”.

Designed to meet your needs, we tour throughout the region presenting fully staged, public performances, educational lecture/demonstrations, workshops, and artist residencies. Workshops/Classes
- Classes for adults and children: Ongoing, year round classes for students of all levels. Beginner level is open to dancers with little or no training and covers basic dance technique, compas, turns, taconeo, castanets and one choreography (Sevillanas). Intermediate and advanced covers the above and requires proficiency in castanets and taconeo. All levels will work on technique and choreography in 4 count and 12 count rhythms.
- Workshop for Professional Development: April 18-25 1999 Flamenco Festival with flamenco guitarist and choreographer. Public performances and guitar/dance workshops for the general public and all levels of musicians and dancers. Workshop/performance sites:
