We support experiments in social media and online public media and create unexpected partnerships and collaborations to further the voice of independent media makers, journalists and artists. Here are some of those projects:
Open Media Boston Jason Pramas, is a veteran journalist created Open Media Boston (OMB) in 2007. OMB is an online metropolitan news publication dedicated to regularly publishing fair and accurate news, views, arts, entertainment and technology coverage for the Boston, Massachusetts, area in text, image, audio and video formats. A unique audience-centered publication with a progressive editorial stance it constantly solicits submissions and commentary from the general public using the latest social media technology while maintaining professional journalistic standards.
Lunch Love Community, producer Helen De Michiel with Citizen Film's Sophie Constantiou. In a moment when education budgets are being cut, obesity is a major problem, and food insecurity is growing across the country, these little documentary glimpses into the Berkeley School Lunch program, one that is working remarkably well, can inspire people to change the way children are eating in their own communities. The short stories will also help us build an awareness and interested community for the one hour Open Minds Open Mouths film when it is completed and ready for release. The Coming to Ground team is producing a website for the project and will be pushing content out via Twitter and Facebook. Video sharing of film clips will be online soon as well. View a short video sample.
